Grants Review Committee
Volunteer Opportunities
Community Foundation North Okanagan welcomes volunteer committee members to help shape how grant funding reaches our community. We have two committees that review applications and make funding recommendations, and we recruit new members for each on an annual basis.

This committee reviews applications from charities and nonprofits seeking funding for health, social, cultural, educational, and environmental initiatives across the North Okanagan. Committee members evaluate approximately 20 grant applications and participate in an adjudication meeting to develop funding recommendations.
Approximate annual schedule:
Mid-April to late April — application review period
Early May — Adjudication Meeting, approximately 4 hours (in person)
Late May or early June — Grants Reception Event (optional)
Estimated time commitment: 14–16 hours per year
-
This committee reviews applications from individuals and small community groups seeking up to $500 for grassroots, neighbourhood-building projects that foster connection and reduce social isolation in the North Okanagan.
Approximate annual schedule:
May — application review period
June — funding decisions finalized
Estimated time commitment: 10 hours per year
