Policies in the Armstrong Official Community Plan "direct future growth strategically to protect ecological and agricultural areas, offer more housing and transportation choices, support economic prosperity and diversity, prioritize sustainable municipal infrastructure planning, enhance community wellbeing, and support our transition to a more sustainable and climate resilient community." Please give local examples of 'good' and 'not good' building development in Armstrong, and state why. Do you support the downtown revitalization plan for Armstrong and why/why not?

I do not support the revitalization project .. I do tho support upgrades to roadways and infrastructure .. i dont believe we needed too reinvent the wheel .. I support local growth when being done in a strategic manner..

Armstrong has experienced significant climate impacts for the last few years. How do you propose to address these crises, both in preparing ahead for disasters like drought, wildfires, heat domes and floods, as well as reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that lead to climate change?

Armstrong needs too prepare for climate impact .. conserving water supplies like rain water barrels .. bringing in fire smart programs and being ahead of all emergencies is a top priority.. i would also encourage solar panels on new builds ..

Do you support the use of public funds to contribute to acquiring natural lands for environmental conservation purposes? Under what conditions would the perceived need for more housing, businesses, roads and other infrastructure prompt you to trade away natural lands with high ecological value for urban expansion?

I would support using public funds but only by a decision made but the community as we need to preserved our natural lands.. growth is inevitable but with in reason

Drought, contamination, increasing demand are just some of the water issues. What actions would you prioritise to protect our creeks, lakes, aquifers, and groundwater for home and agricultural water sources, habitat for fish and wildlife, and human recreation?

I would consider any means of water conservation like Collection catchment or gathering of run off to protect our water supply

Social

In smaller communities we need to be creative in how we help one another; how do you see the role of local government in this?

I am a local owner operator.. i believe in the people and I believe I can be the solid ear for the community too help there voices to be heard

How do we tackle misinformation and growing distrust in local government as well as uncivil behaviour on social media and in person?

Number 1 research.. I believe in hearing both sides before jumping in .. uncivil behaviour is never called for .. be involved and researching information will help the community understand if we communicate what’s being done

What personal and/or professional experience has most shaped your understanding of Truth and Reconciliation, and how would it influence your decisions as a municipal elected official?

My grandfather is a residential school survivor… he is from Stoney plains and from the lubicon tribe .. we are Cree First Nation .. so my self as a Cree First nation I’d say keep learning keep listening build trust and be inclusive of everyone …

I believe as a 3rd generation I feel that keeping heritage zoning in effect and maintain our heritage status..

As a local business owner I feel that our local government could help by supporting local businesses is a way too help them grow .. our local chamber that we are all so lucky to have do a amazing job at getting local businesses and entrepreneurs on the map ..

What is one action the municipality should take to strengthen our local food system and improve access to healthy, affordable food? Why that action?

Getting our local community more access too our farmers and a better hub for farmers too be able too sell local produce and food too our community
